As we move into increased awareness of our carbon footprint, businesses are also bring urged to reduce energy consumption where possible. Lighting accounts for between 39% - 55% of total energy used in most commercial spaces. It’s estimated that around 24% of the energy used to light a building or room could have been reduced by either switching the light off when not occupied or reducing light level with dimming functions. A way to combat this energy loss is to opt for smart lighting to allow light scheduling to dim or switch loads off at set times every day. 

 

The benefits of smart lighting are not just contained to energy efficiency though - a single switch press at a door entrance can trigger a multiple lighting scenes to turn on or off, reducing the need to individually go every light switch at different locations. Different lighting scenes can be recalled instantly to set a mood in a restaurant, car show room, fitness studio or office space to give that wow factor to customers.
